Woman Attacked in Calgary

A woman was attacked on Tuesday morning whilst out jogging in Edworthy Park, Calgary.

Reports say that she was hit on the head with a rock and knocked out momentarily, when she came-to the man was trying to choke her. Fortunately, the woman did manage to fight the man off, kicking him in the face and breaking his glasses.

It shows that it is possible for a woman to fight back, that you can make a difference.

This attack also shows how “It can happen” and to those who expect it least. Jogging alone in an isolated area does make you more vulnerable, and easier for an attacker to target you. If possible jog in a group or in busier areas.

It should not be the case but unfortunately there are such people as this low-life attacker that exist in the world.

Scheduled Free Self Defense Courses

Throughout the duration of our last season, we taught free self defense courses to over 1000 people.

One of the problems that came to light was that it was hard for interested people to commit themselves as our courses were organised at rather short notice at times.

Realising that people require more time to organise their own schedules and organising their own time, it was decided to organise many more dates right up front and let people know what is going to be available for the coming year.

Our new season starts in September, by then we will have all dates for the coming year organised.

We hold many free courses, we also hold courses for groups and even go into Companies to hold Self Defense Courses for their staff.

Many people ask about bringing children to courses, however, the type of information that children need to learn differs from the information that adults require. The physical techniques that young children need to know also differ from the physical techniques that we teach to adults.

Teenagers and above are a different matter as physical size is very similar to that of adults, therefor teenagers and above are welcome to accompany other family members who attend.

If you have any doubts then please do not hesitate to contact us.

In The News

Increase your awareness, keep up with the news and be aware of what’s happening around us here in Alberta…

There have been some terrible things happen in Alberta over the last few years but there are also many situations that occur and go unseen.

Alberta is still one of the Provinces in Canada with very high rates of Domestic abuse. Oftentimes, this is one of those crimes that goes on undetected and kept quiet. Very sad but very true.
